The Yin and Yang in Life

The Yin and Yang in Life We all experience moments of highs and lows, this is the Yin and Yang of life! Within each of us there is a flow of life force energy, and the life flow energy has two key expressions, and they are the outward and the inward flow of energies. The Yang energy is masculine energy, and the Yin is feminine energy.  Yin and Yang interconsume each other, as one can’t exist without the other, and the interaction of these two forces creates the life in which we live, and are the essence of the Universe. Everything in life is all down to our emotions! When I say emotions, I mean emotions that we RESPOND to, as opposed to REACTING to! Emotions are good as they’re our emotional compass, our guidance, guiding us to what feels good, and they let us know when we’re off track! Let’s take a look at the masculine and feminine aspects of Yin and Yang.

The Yin is the feminine energy that flows inward, and is the inner acceptance, and receiving energy.  This energy is associated with feelings and gut instincts (intuition), and is fully active when working creatively through our imagination. The Yin energy uses the right hemisphere of the brain, and is in control of the left side of the body. Yin is total creative energy of the arts, dance and music, and when in balance we flow creatively.    When the right brain is out of balance or is primarily right dominant, we are powerless in making rational decisions, and liable to be emotionally unbalanced, or away with the fairies. The right hemisphere creates intimacy, and produces natural feelings of sensitivity, concern and empathy for others, and naturally motivates emotional support.

The Yang-masculine energy is focused, assertive and passionate energy that is transformational outward flowing energy, and it’s the creative flow of life force energy; it is the extroverted energy of life. The Yang energy is the energy we expel when we are focusing our attention upon something. The Yang energy uses the left hemisphere of our brain, and is associated with our logical thinking, logical tasks and analytical skills, as well as controlling the right side of the body. Left brain people are more rational as opposed to being intuitive, and can be emotionally detached, experiencing unresponsive emotions, and can struggle to deal with people and things going on around us

If we can start working with both sides of the brain, our thinking will definitely be clearer, offering us clarity of thought. Accomplishing left and right brain synchronisation helps the individual to function in a more constructive, whole way, and when both sides work together as a team, thoughts, feelings and emotions are balanced, and in harmony.

I find that meditation helps in balancing both hemispheres of my brain, as it not only slows down my mind, and it also balances my emotions, helping to improve my well-being. By gaining an understanding of your energy system, you can intentionally modify the way your energy flows.  A well balanced energy system allows emotional healing and well-being in all aspects of life.
